shopping in male' grrrrr

Shopping in male' is so grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....
Shops are packed and things are v expensive.
Non of the goods are worth buying in the price they are sold. Damn how do these ppl give a price to a product.
Mostly cosmetics and cloths , so expensive.
Cloths we bought from Indian markets at cheap rate are better then those stuffs we get in Male'.
Some are so out of fashion. Some are not in a  good condition to buy , but the prices.. OMG. . Dont say it.
I haven't bought any dress from these shops in past 1 year. Its better to buy cloth material and make a dress for my myself.
Like 3 years ago you wont find a nice shoe in Male' but now they have nice one but the price ... damn .. .
Y so expensive . seriously  . . :(
Another thing is , even though they have so old stocks , they don't sell on sale. Even though there is a sale they are not worth buying in term of Price and quality ... ... ...
Just GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I used to love shopping, when i was in Delhi , even the window shopping ... wow .. . !!! Loved all that .
I used to wear some thin new in each week or day.
I remember for an exam ( when our house was near a market (kamla nagar market)  , i bought new dress for each day. After exam on my way back to home i bought a top o dress for the next day paper.
Those days i loved shopping , Things were worth buying . Even it does not fit you , o don't like it , u wont  regret cos they are not so expensive.
There also branded stuffs were expensive, but worthy.
Here in male' NOT BRANDED but EXPENSIVE , so NOT WORTHY.

Theft

Saturday night  azza, mamsha , me and my bf went for swimming. We put all our  (4) phones in the motorbike Ubox and hid the key under a stone. but when we came out of sea, key and motorbike was gone. Some body tool it.
( am writing this after 3months, so don't remember much)
We got so scared, all the phones and bike it self is stolen. We went to near by police station , we wanted to file a complain but they told us to come with all the documents. ( That was so unacceptable- they could have filed the damn complain , and give the information about the motor bike to the traffic police on that mins, but No they wanted to do it like their lazy way)  Any way we did filed a complain after a hr.
All our family members started looking for the bike. But no sign of it that day. Boo was working so hard to find it by walk.  I couldn't bear it , and i just stayed in my room crying and thinking about it.
2nd day went no sign of it, Police had no news of it.
On the 3rd day around 7 , My cousin found it inside the ADK hospital.
We all were v happy...
Even at that time police came so late and they noted all the details  and verified with all the documents i ahd and gave the bike to us. ( the Guard bro told it was there like for 3 days. may be tha person took all the phones and kept it there. Bike even had some damages at right side)
After a week police called and asked weather we found it o not , and all sort of unnecessary questions, Then told me to go there file a complain saying that i found it.  What the heck. Police was there when i took it, they verified all the documents, then what the heck were they talking about.
From that i got to know that they can't find our phone. I should just forget about them.

Club Maldives cup 2012 (MHE)

On 20th we played our first match against Maldivian. At first we got the lead and but at the end we lost by 3-1.  In that lot of lessons learned and lot happened. You can imaging loosing from the 1st match after having a lead. lot of fingers are pointed out, lot of ppls were blamed. After that Match work was gone. Felt like all those works we put in to practice has gone wast.
Any way we had lot of team meetings and  lot of work by team members the team got the courage and new sprite to win the next match .
On 25th we played agianst Wataniyya , won by 1-0. Everyone had the pleasure of playing in that game. we got a very sweet win.
Any way on 28th we were going to play against Immigration , the best team . We had a v good team sprite. We wanted to win that match. As a result  at the end of 1st half match score was 1-1. But in the second half our team lost it , They scored 5 goals and we lost by 6-1.
That was the end of club Maldives Cup for us MHE.

Learn from the Experience.

I have been waiting to write this for a long time.

On 2nd to 4th July , I  attended a workshop named Woman and Energy by SAARC organization at Bados island resort. In that  workshop 7  country members participate. It went successful, leaned a lot  and enjoyed lot 2.
On 2nd day ,Ms.Joelly Murphy from USAID/RESET gave an inspiring speech for woman.

Important Lessons I  (she) learned along the way
  • “Gather” loyal mentors, allies, & women friends
  • Continually build your own skills (for me: analysis, crisp writing, presentations with clear messages & negotiation)
  • Grasp the key technical aspects of the subject  & get over not being an engineer (or not the “right” kind of engineer)
  • Always volunteer to do the first draft & always do more “homework” than the other guy
  • Sex harassment: be alert, learn to deflect it early & handle it without creating an enemy
  • Build up a savings account that would keep you solvent for 6 months if you have to quit or get fired.
  • Develop some “coping” techniques that work for you.
  • Use surprise, creativity and flexibility to your advantage.
Some Particular Techniques that can increase one’s Power & Voice  -- subject to cultural issues, of course
•Dress (“Power is in the shoulders, honey, not the hips.”)
Eye contact
Personal space
Firm handshake
Learning to get over the fear of speaking in public
Learning to project your voice, your authority, your message Speaking with confidence in a strong voice
“Power Posturing” (pre-meeting, during meeting) to change your own feelings of self confidence and others’ perceptions and reactions to you.

I know its long , but v useful information.
